photoaid 2008!

"help the people of myanmar, the people of myanmar needs your help..!!"

that was the tagline by PE, one of the core volunteers and nikon mod. he really went all out to help the victims. his enthusiasm was passively moving alot of tourists and locals.

SINGAPORE: A group of photography enthusiasts is helping to raise funds for the Myanmar cyclone victims in a way they know best – taking pictures.

The project, called "PhotoAid", is organised by Clubsnap Photography with partners like Nikon and Epson.

Visitors at the Merlion Park can have their pictures taken at a cost of S$10 per 4R photo.

The proceeds from the sale of the photos will be channelled to The Salvation Army Myanmar Cyclone Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims of Cyclone Nargis.

Over 40 photographers have volunteered for the project over three weekends from May 17 to June 1. So far, they have raised about S$3,000.

The last time the photographers held such an event was in 2005 when they raised S$13,000 for the tsunami victims.

you can click on the poster to know more details. just a quick summary. we are taking photos by the merlion and each photo would be a $10 to the salvation army in Myanmar directly. we are all volunteering our time to help the victims in need.

friends, please help them out!

some of the wacky photos we took after our shift ending and packing up to head back home.

that's a flash. a ring flash. and there's a 10kg+ battery pack tied to it. yes it's that madnessss!

a side view of the ring flash. its like a dish like reflector! hahaha BLINDING power!

wacky jump which covered me at the back =(

a proper group photo for sunday! hahaha everyone was so lazy to bring out their camera to shoot a photo. gees!

a over exposed photo shot by the ring flash.

this is something what the effect would be like but i think the photo is out of focus as well. see the rings! omg!

due to two setup of cameras. some of them actually looked at the wrong one! hahaha!

credits to all the photographers who actually took the photos above. mainly dca, da and someone whom i don't really know =)

hope that we can actually raise more funds for the victims.

oh yeah we were on channel five as well! hehehe

cat photography

initially, i was rather pissed off that i lost my posb GO! card at parkway area. i withdrawed money to spend and wanted to use my card to pay for dinner but i lost it! so luckily i still had $30 with me and hashbrown paid the other 10. if not, we had to stay there and wash plates le...

whahahaha...

and on my way back, i had the chance to pounce into the family of kitties who lives around my block or the 2nd story. if i'm not wrong, there's a mother cat.

above is the mother cat when she's alot younger before she gave birth to so many kittens. below is a series of the siblings. there were 5 of them hunting for food to eat... which were cockroaches... now my area has lesser cockroaches thanks soooo much to these kittens. their mother must have taught them well.

there are two ginger coloured, one brownish, and two black and white. <-- fathered by one VERY handsome blackish grey male cat and a garfield colour cat. therefore the mixture of colours of the kittens.

and now mother cat is preggy again, not sure by who yet and just before i left... the mummy cat fought with this unknown stray from don't know where and fierce fight occured =\ sooo poor thing.

hope these helps by telling a story and they are well groomed and maintained by my friend's family. i hope i can chip in to help by buying them some food or a scratch pole or some sort.

she's the sweetest kitty i've ever come by. she kept following me and cuddling and rubbing against my feet and leg. rolling around and stepping on my feet at times. shooo cute. i think she's the youngest among all.

updated pregnant picture of mummy cat. she was chewing on some pieces of biscuit...

this series was shot under very tough conditions, super dark area with just some street orange lights and i was just unable to get decent lock ons. therefore the shaky pictures with high ISO. i even had to kneel and even prone on the floor on all fours to get some of the shots i wanted.

cheers to the kittys! <3
